Henry MacConnel, LMSW

I’m a Columbia-trained psychotherapist specializing in modern, integrative approaches to therapy, with a particular focus on helping clients who are seeking to work through long-standing challenges.

I often work with individuals looking for a more in-depth, transformational experience in therapy. This may involve consultation for ketamine-assisted therapy, mindfulness-oriented practices, or somatic and narrative-based methods, all of which are established and effective choices. I work collaboratively to help make sense of the options, and tailor an approach that’s right for you.

When we’re feeling stuck, it’s often worthwhile to try fresh approaches that help us experience ourselves and others in new ways. I’ve trained extensively at major hospitals and clinics across New York City, as well as meditation centers around the world. I’ve also authored peer-reviewed research on the use of supervised ketamine, mindfulness, and trauma therapy for PTSD. My clinical experience has shown me the power of these innovative methods to catalyze breakthroughs and long-term change.

Previously, I had a career in business and the creative arts, which has allowed me to connect with clients from many different walks of life. My aim in our work together is to offer a therapy experience that is both focused and effective, yet soulful and transformative—and always attentive to your needs and safety. Whether you’re seeking a structured approach or an open-ended exploration, I’m here to join you in a process of meaningful change.
